Map & Description
Starting at Clontarf and Alfie Byrne Junction
Participants will run directly up the Promenade along Clontarf Road keeping to the walking path (beside the water). They will also be able to run on the grass beside the path where possible. This path takes them up to the Bull Island Bridge. They will then turn right and cross the bridge and proceed straight onto the beach. Continue along the sand to Dollymount. At Dollymount they will rejoin the road and run up the causeway to James Larkin Road. Turning right onto the cycle and walk paths they will continue along the Promenade towards the Kilbarrack Road. They turn around here - this is a ¼ Marathon distance.
The return leg follows the same route until participant’s transverse the Wooden Bridge from Bull Island. Here they will follow the cycling path (beside the Clontarf Road) and run back to the Start/ Finish line. This is a ½ Marathon distance.
Finishing at Clontarf and Alfie Byrne Junction (Green Area)
Participants doing the Full Marathon will do two laps.
